How TR1P handles your information.
Effective date: March 17, 2026. This policy explains what TR1P collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Overview
TR1P is a driving statistics and trip tracking app that automatically detects drives, records route and distance data, and turns trip activity into insights such as duration, speed, time saved or added, incident moments, and historical trends.
This Privacy Policy applies to the TR1P app, the TR1P support page, and related communications. By using TR1P, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use TR1P, we may collect or process the following categories of information:
- Location data used to detect trips, draw route previews, measure distance traveled, and generate trip details
- Drive-related data such as route coordinates, trip duration, speed information, time saved or added, streaks, and statistics
- Incident data such as harsh braking and harsh acceleration events when supported by the app experience
- Settings and preference data, including unit preferences, appearance, and trip detection configuration
- Support information you choose to send, including your name, email address, and support message
- Purchase or entitlement status related to premium upgrade flows and unlocks, as reported by Apple
3. How we use information
We use information to operate and improve TR1P, including to:
- Automatically detect and record trips
- Generate trip history, route previews, trip detail views, and statistics dashboards
- Show premium-style insights such as filterable trends, charts, drive streaks, and trip summaries
- Support optional sharing features initiated by you
- Provide customer support and respond to privacy or account requests
- Verify premium access, unlocks, and related product functionality
- Protect the security, integrity, and reliability of the app
4. Data storage and sync
TR1P is designed to keep core trip information on your device. If optional iCloud or Apple-based sync features are enabled, some information may be stored through your Apple account so it can be available across supported devices.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your trip routes or trip history for third-party advertising.
5. Sharing of information
We may share information only in limited situations:
- With Apple, to the extent necessary for TestFlight distribution, iCloud-related storage, purchases, and app platform features
- When you choose to share a trip summary card, message, or exported content
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or the security of TR1P and its users
6. Permissions
TR1P may request permissions such as Location access, notification access, and other iPhone permissions needed for trip detection and alerts. You can manage these permissions in your device settings, but some features may not work correctly if permissions are disabled.
7. Data retention
Trip history and related driving information are kept until you delete them, archive them, remove the app, or request deletion where applicable. Support emails may be retained as needed to resolve issues, meet legal obligations, and document prior requests.
8. Your choices
- You can review and delete trips inside the app using available trip actions
- You can change trip detection and other behavior in Settings
- You can control app permissions through iPhone Settings
- You can contact us to request help with privacy questions or deletion requests
9. Children’s privacy
TR1P is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date above and provide notice through the app or related channels where appropriate.
